Kyler's Customization!

Hi! Today I'm going to be showing you how I customized my boy doll, which I will be naming Kyler. I will probably pick one of you guys's name suggestions for his middle name! Anyways, lets get on with the post! I paid $43 for the doll, but there was a $15 shipping charge, so i ended up paying about $58 for him. The first two pictures are pictures from his eBay listing.

This is Kyler in his girl form! I think that he is a PM #12, but I'm not positive.

This is what his girl hair looked like in the back. It was pretty tangled, but I was able to fix it up pretty well. I will probably be selling it.

Here is Kyler when I got him and had fixed up his girl hair.

He has a really tan body and that was one of the things that told me that he was a Pleasant Company doll.

Also, the back of his neck said Pleasant Company.

He has the tip of his thumb bitten off.....

And a little slice of his finger is bitten off.

Here is what the girl hair looked like after I fixed it.

I also cleaned him. I used scrubbing bubbles...

An old wet rag....

An old towel....

And a magic eraser.

First I cleaned him with a magic eraser and scrubbing bubbles.

Then I wiped the area I was cleaning with a wet rag.

And lastly, dried it off with a towel.

Here he was after being cleaned.

He has two spots on his legs that I will need to do an ink removal treatment on.

I also tightened his limbs, even though they weren't very loose.

I unstuffed him and tightened his limbs with some old hair ties.

Then I restuffed him.

And put the head back on! Now his limbs are all tight.
After that, I took his girl wig off, which took FOREVER! I even used non-acetone nail polish removed and it still took me about an hour!

This is the wig I got!

It is from Ruby Red Galleria and it costed about $27. I ended up glueing it onto his head, which was kinda scary!
Anyways, in all, I paid about $85 for the completed doll.

And here is the finished doll!
I did a phptoshoot of him in a new shirt I made him, so I hope you like the photos!
Also, sorry that his hair looks gray in half of the pictures! It is not actually that color! My camera being stupid combined with the cloudy day and bad lighting made it look like that! I hope you like the photos anyways! :)

Thanks for reading!

  4. He is seriously adorable! And was it hard to restring him? I know it shouldn't be, but I'm mostly scared to take my dolls apart! I hope to someday create a custom so I want to learn all I can before attempting. :)

    1. Thanks so much Leah! Tightening his limbs wasn't hard! You can find tutorials on YouTube if you want to know how to do it! It wasn't really scary for me to take apart the doll, but when I was your age I would have been scared to do it! I hope you try it someday! It it fun! :)
