Dolloween series day 10: Minion costume tutorial!!!

Hello there! I was going to post this tutorial yesterday, but didn't get time. So, sorry bout that! Anyways, today's tutorial is a minion costume! I love the finished product and think it is sooo adorable! I hope you guys like it! :)

You will need: a cereal box (or any thin cardboard like that), scissors, a hot glue gun, a sewing machine, the LJC Trendy t-shirt pattern (downloadable for free on their website), pins, black pipe cleaners, clear plastic, silver nail polish, yellow, black, jean, and white fabric, a pair of AG pants to trace, and a pair of black shoes.
Start by cutting out your pattern pieces on yellow material  and altering the sleeves by pinning the actual pattern piece to the top of the fabric, and making them long so that it will be a long sleeved shirt, as shown.
These are all the pieces you should have by now.
Sew it together according to the pattern, and it should look like this.
Get your jean material. Fold your pair of AG pants in half, cutting around them and leaving extra space around the whole thing.
Do this four times, so that you have four pieces that look like this.
Separate the four pieces into two groups of 2. Put them good side to good side, and sew the crotch areas together.
In fold them, and put them good side to good side again. Sew the inner leg part together.
When you flip it right side out, it should now look like this.
Flip it inside out and fold up each of the leg holes once and sew them down.
Sew the outer leg part together and trim off any extra.
Put them on your doll and they should look like this.
Cut out a top piece for the overalls, that looks like the big one and a piece for the back that looks like the small one.
Fold down the edges once, and sew them down.
Sew the bigger piece onto the front of your pants, like shown.
Sew the smaller piece onto the back, and sew the two sides together.
Sew on a pocket to the front of your overalls.
For straps, cut a strip of denim about 2 inches wide and as long as the length from the top of the overalls to the back strap area.
Fold the outer edges into the center.
Then fold that in half and sew it down.
Sew the straps onto the overalls, crossing the straps in the back, like shown.
Get your black material, fold it in half, and cut out two mitten shapes.
Fold the edge up, sew it down, sew the mitten together, and flip it right side out.
Trace the bottom of a little jar of craft paint twice, like shown.
Trace a quarter in the middle of each of those circles and cut it out, like shown.
Cut 2 thin strips of cardboard and glue them around the edges of the first part you cut out.
Paint it silver with nail polish.
For a hat, cut out 4 pieces shaped like this. They should be about 1/4 the size of your dolls head each. Make sure you don't make them too small.
Sew them together, and it should look like this from the inside.
And like this from the outside.
Cut those same pieces out of white material. You sew them together by putting them good side to good side and sewing down one side.
Just keep doing this. This is what it should look like when you have 3 pieces sewed together, flipped right side out.
This is with the fourth piece.
When both layers are sewed together, put them good side to good side, and sew around the edges.
Make sure to leave a hole in the back of the hat.
Flip it right side out by pushing everything through the hole you left in the back.
Fold the hole's raw edges in and sew it down. If this hat is too complicated for you, then you can just tie a piece of yellow fabric around your dolls head as a headband.
Make a strap for the goggles/glasses by following the instructions for how to make the straps for the overalls, except in black material, and glue it onto the each end of the goggles/glasses.
Cut pipe cleaners for hair and glue them to the top of the hat.
Make a G symbol like this and glue or tape it onto your overall pocket and you are done!!!

Here are some photos of Leighton modeling the costume! I hope you like them! :)

I didn't have time to make black shoes, so I just tied some stretchy black material around her feet. It looks kinda funny, but you can't really tell from far away! :)

Thanks for reading!!! I hope you guys liked this! :)
