Dolloween series day 4: Jack-o-lantern costume tutorial!!!

Hey guys! First off, I'm soooo sorry for not posting yesterday! I was super busy working on all the posts for this week, and by the time I could even get on the computer, it was time to go to bed! I had a post planned for yesterday, but I'll probably just combine that post with the post for Friday of something. Anyways, todays tutorial is a Jack-O-Lantern costume! It was pretty easy, so I hope a lot of you guys will be able to make it!

You will need: pins, the Liberty Jane trendy t-shirt pattern minus the sleeves( downloaded free on their website), a pair of green shoes, black fabric, orange non-see through fabric, orange see through fabric (or tulle), scissors, a sewing machine, a hot glue gun, and some green fun foam.
First, cut out your pattern pieces. On the front piece, do not cut out the neck part, and on the back pieces, cut from the neck hole, straight over to the end of the fabric.
This is what your pieces should look like.
Fold the front piece in half and cut a curved shape at the top.
Unfold it, and it should look something like this. Put it on your doll and keep folding it in half and cutting it in a slight curved shape, until it fits your doll nicely with a bit extra at the top.
Fold it in half, and pin it on more orange material that is folded in half. Cut it out.
Put the two pieces together, good side to good side, and sew along the top edge.
Flip it right side out, and it should look something like this.
Then top stitch around the top edge.
The front of your dress will have two layers. Cut half of the bottom layer off.
With the back pieces, fold down the arm hole down once, and the top twice, and sew those down.
Sew all three pieces together like normal (how the pattern says). Fold in the sides twice where your Velcro will go and sew them down.
It should now look like this from the front/outside.
Get your see through orange fabric or tulle and cut 4 pieces that wrap around your dolls waist about 3 1/2 times, and go from your dolls waist to the bottom of her knee. Sew a straight line across the top edge of each of the four pieces. Make sure you don't backstitch!!!!!
Leave some string hanging from each end. There will be two strings hanging from each end. Grab ONE string from one end and push the fabric downwards.
Once you have done that, it should look like this. You should have 4 pieces that look like this. Sew all 4 layers together along the top edge.
Sew it onto your top part, making sure you sew it as high or as low on the top piece as you want. Cut off excess material at the waist.

Try it on your doll and mark where the Velcro needs to go. Sew the Velcro on. Trim the bottom part of your dress to the length you want, making sure it is cut straight.
Get your black material, and cut out two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. I know, I know, my jack-o-lantern's mouth is kinda funny! :P   I really cannot get the mouth right! Don't judge! ;)   Also, cut an orange strip of either one of your orange materials, long enough to tie around your dolls head. Tape or glue the face onto your dress. I taped mine because I'd like to use this dress for other things besides Halloween.
Tie it around your dolls head. Cut a pumpkin stem from your green craft foam and glue it on the headband thingy.
And you're done! I think this is pretty cute! I did a little photoshoot of the costume, so I hope you like it! :)

Haha! That mouth kinda looks like a chainsaw! ;P   I seriously cannot do pumpkin mouths!

I hope you liked this tutorial!
Thanks for reading! :)
